The porcelain is not only very impact and shock resistant. Pillivuyt's ovenproof porcelain also withstands rapid temperature changes from -30 °C to +350 °C – a plate that has been in the freezer can be placed directly into a hot oven. You can therefore easily prepare pies, lasagna, or similar dishes and freeze the plate, then place it in the preheated oven when it suits you. The unique properties of the porcelain are a result of the special porcelain clay and the extremely high firing temperature. Additionally, Pillivuyt's porcelain absorbs and distributes heat optimally – keeping food warm long after it has been taken out of the oven.
